Choose Your Fields

In digital marketing, we generally mention 6 strategies:

Different marketing fields to choose for your business.

It is essential to choose your field wisely, to make sure your efforts are being focused on the right matters

The amount of fields you focus on should reflect the size of your company, business, or overall activity. If you are on the smaller side, it would most likely be unwise to go all-in and attempt to dominate all six variables. On the other hand, if you are in charge of a large company, you don't stand much of a chance if you leave out one of these marketing strategies.

We are going to walk you through each tactic, so you can better understand the process. As a rule of thumb, if you aren't a big firm, we would generally recommend starting with Search Engine Optimisation and Social Media Marketing, maybe going as far as email marketing.

Search Engine Optimisation

Without going into too much detail, SEO is the act of getting a given website to rank higher in the search engines. This means more traffic to your product or service, and in turn, higher interest, sales, and clients. As a Search Engine Optimisation specialist, I can confirm that there are many factors to account for when attempting to optimise your site. From the simple tweaks such as strong keywords, image format and size, to the more complex and challenging techniques such as latent semantic indexing and strong backlinks.

Social Media Marketing

Here we have one of the best strategies to build brand awareness and credibility. Most people spend a lot of time on social media, therefore, using that to your advantage and marketing your products and/or services has become essential. Lots of details going into this strategy, it definitely isn't as simple as posting regularly on all platforms. Skills and expertise in market analysis, post performance and creativity are a must if you want to efficiently attempt this tactic.

Email Marketing

Email marketing remains a leading way to optimise a marketing campaign. There is an immediate sense of seriousness when a message is sent via email, which is why so many marketers still take advantage of it. There are lots of powerful platforms to automate emails, making it quite easy to keep on top of everything. The goal with this tactic is to create a sense of urgency, the individual receiving your email must feel the need to click on the links, to visit your website, etc. The great thing is, you build up your repertoire of email addresses with time, increasing your reach every time a new one is gathered.

Pay-Per-Click

Similar to SEO, Pay-Per-Click is a way of to increase your online presence. The difference is that you must pay to advertise whatever it is you are selling, once you stop paying, you stop getting traffic. This is the main downside, and why it's not something I would recommend to small businesses. The value for money can be great, but often you must be prepared to invest a big sum of money to see the type of results you are looking for.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a great tool that is still growing as social media does. With the rise of platforms such as TikTok, this strategy has become widely utilized. In a nutshell, it consists in paying a commission to an individual or organization who helps you to sell a product/service. For example, if someone has a big following on Instagram or TikTok, you could ask them to advertise your product for you by simply talking about it, or using it. To “thank them” you offer a commission for any sales going directly through their social profiles or website. This would be tracked with a custom link for buyers to use, or a promotional code they would use at check-out.

Now for the longest-term strategy of them all: content marketing. The goal of such a tactic is to build a powerful brand, strong awareness around it, recurring interaction and conversations all over the internet. There is no guarantee that content marketing will pay off, unlike PPC, which will most definitely deliver for the right price. However, if done correctly, this plan of action can be super beneficial. To put this procedure in place, you will need to combine skills such as search engine optimisation and social media marketing, and market research.

To conclude, your digital marketing plan can be approached many ways. The tactics you select will depend on your budget, objectives, and current situation. For more information, get in touch to see what game plan is best for you and your business.
